About me
What skills and experiences do you have that makes you suitable to represent them?
What was your motivation for nominating?
I bring a unique blend of strategic thinking, emotional steadiness, and deep community engagement to the role. With over 13 years of experience as a teacher across secondary, tertiary and international schools, I've learned to listen deeply, communicate clearly, and empower diverse voices.
My volunteer service, including roles with the State Emergency Services and as a Justice of the Peace, reflects a long-standing commitment to civic responsibility and transparent leadership.
I nominated myself because I believe Joondalup deserves leadership that is transparent, emotionally grounded, and genuinely connected to the community.
The campaign is not about ambition - it's about service! I've seen how disconnected things can become, and I want to model a different kind of leadership: one that listens, reflects, and acts with integrity.
Running as one amongst you (the residents), my intentions are clear: to empower residents, foster trust, and make decisions that serve the long-term well-being of our community.

My Commitment to North Ward Residents
When elected as your Councillor, I will champion transparency, accountability, and community-first decision-making. Residents deserve clear, accessible channels to understand how council decisions are made, how funds are spent, and what outcomes are achieved.
I will:
Provide plain-language summaries of council meetings, highlighting key votes, budget allocations, and their impact on our community.
Advocate for open data initiatives, ensuring council reports, financial statements, and planning documents are publicly available and easy to understand.
Tackling Long-Standing Issues
I will work to address persistent concerns that affect our quality of life and future sustainability:
1) Reduce landfill at Tamala Park with a long-term strategy to phase it out.
2) Eliminate chemical-based weeding across our city to protect public health and the environment.
3) Freeze annual rate increases, challenging the automatic inflation-based hikes that burden residents.
4) Prioritise capital works that deliver immediate, tangible benefits—and delay projects that don’t serve current community needs.
5) Ensure responsible high-rise development. I will advocate a balanced approach to urban growth—one that respects the character of our neighbourhoods and the capacity of our infrastructure. High-rise developments must not be approved without genuine community consultation, thorough environmental assessments, and a clear, demonstrated benefit to residents.
A Councillor Who Listens
My personal commitment is to remain reachable and responsive. I will host regular community forums and maintain open lines of communication to ensure your concerns are heard and acted upon.
Accountability begins with visibility. I will make local governance understandable, answerable, and inclusive—because residents should be co-authors of policies, not just observers.
