Candidate: SINGH, Rajinder
About me
What skills and experiences do you have that makes you suitable to represent them?
What was your motivation for nominating?
This is my first time running for council from the Hilton ward and my real reasons as to why I am now dedicated to stand is so that I can help make changes within the council ( if needed) and bring improvements to the associated ward. I really want to make Hilton ward the best in terms of infrastructure, elderly engagement and increase the childcare support so that the community can benefit the most from it.
I have been an entrepreneur for 12 years and therefore have very good management skills and am a very proactive person who is keen on making good changes to our community by liaising with the council members.
How I intend to serve my electorate
What measures you will implement to improve accountability and transparency with your electorate?
What methods will you use to engage with your constituents to improve communication and to engage them in policy development and decision making?
It is always important to convey any key interests raised during council meetings to the general public so that they feel included in decision making. It is important that even though we want to advocate for what is best for the council, it should always be in the interest of its community members/residents.
Representation can be done via emails, flyers, speaking to residents and hearing their thoughts. It is all about engagement.
To engage community members in decision making we will promote face to face meet ups, writing directly to me and running surveys if needed.
