About me
What skills and experiences do you have that makes you suitable to represent them?
What was your motivation for nominating?
As a proud Gubbi Gubbi man and local Preston resident, I have a deep connection to both community and Country. I’m running as an independent candidate because I believe Central Ward deserves a representative who listens and advocates for everyone. My motivation is rooted in a commitment to transparency in local government and ensuring that decisions are made in true consultation with the community.
As a long-time community advocate with a strong commitment to sustainability and diversity, I’m passionate about preserving key local institutions like the Preston Market and upgrading vital infrastructure such as the Preston Library. My experience in supporting local initiatives and building community partnerships equips me to tackle the complex issues facing our ward. I’m dedicated to affordable housing, expanding green spaces, and enhancing the Preston Central Business Area to make it more vibrant and sustainable.
I understand the importance of listening to the people I represent, and I’m committed to ensuring your voices are central to every decision. My leadership, consultation, and community development skills make me well-prepared to deliver meaningful results for Central Ward. I’m running to build a future that reflects the needs and aspirations of our diverse community, and I would be honored to serve you on Darebin City Council.
How I intend to serve my electorate
What measures you will implement to improve accountability and transparency with your electorate?
What methods will you use to engage with your constituents to improve communication and to engage them in policy development and decision making?
If elected, I will prioritise genuine consultation with the people of Central Ward. Accountability and transparency are central to my vision, and I will ensure that decisions made in Council reflect the needs and values of our community. To improve transparency, I will advocate for regular public updates on Council decisions and create a more accessible platform for residents to track progress on local issues. I believe in open communication, and I will hold regular forums, both in-person and online, so that you can voice your concerns, ask questions, and stay informed.
I’m committed to engaging with all members of our community, ensuring that diverse voices are heard in the decision-making process. I will introduce regular surveys and community consultations to gather input on key issues such as affordable housing, local infrastructure, and green spaces. My goal is to create a strong feedback loop, where you can shape the policies that affect your daily life.
By working together, we can foster a more inclusive and sustainable Central Ward. I will be a representative who not only listens but also acts on the ideas and aspirations of the people. Your voice will be at the heart of every decision I make as your elected representative.
