After a long journey that included hunting, fishing, farming, shooting and being a soldier for many years, I eventually decided that I could not support the industries that had very effectively normalised cruelty to animals on an industrial scale. I refused to eat or buy any of their products. I was also motivated by the type of environmental concerns emanating out of the animal agriculture systems.
The final thing that convinced me to become political was when I realised that there was only one political party that cared enough to have policies for animals. It was then I realised that within that focus was the seed to improve my life as well as all my fellow humans. Whether you are focused on the environment or the psychological effects of systemic cruelty, we are all better off when we are kind to all animals whether human or non-human.
I am fortunate enough to be retired within the beautiful Derwent electorate but that does not mean I am tired. As part of my campaign I completed a 20 hour, extended Ironman triathlon within the Derwent electorate. I have the energy to devote to improving the lives of all animals. I hope you will vote for me and join the kindness revolution that is the Animal Justice Party.
